A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be rectified by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also crucial to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you have a Linux website hosting with our company and you would like to enable the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally just a single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can pick one single email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all emails sent to mistyped addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button again will disable the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be enabled without any difficulty in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll find a small button handily located right next to each of them. With only one click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate this feature through the context menu that will show up. If any of the prerequisites for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will inform you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
